Before Tuesday's Seattle game, the Yankees placed center fielder Harrison Bader on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.
Ben Rortvedt went to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Franchy Cordero replaced Bader in the outfield, while Jose Trevino returned from the IL.
Bader’s IL placement is expected. After Bader departed Monday's game, Aaron Boone said it was possible on Tuesday.
MRI this morning. He'll miss at least a week and a half, but the Yankees don't know how serious the injury is.
In 26 games, Bader is hitting.267/.295/.511 with six homers and six steals. He's played center field for 205 1/3 innings and played well defensively.
Bader is a productive two-way outfielder when healthy. However, he has never reached 427 MLB plate appearances in a season.
