"Air," an autobiographical sports drama, recently premiered on Prime Video, featuring a star-studded cast including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, and Jason Bateman.
The film tells the story of how Nike courted Michael Jordan and highlights the iconic Air Jordan 1, as well as how Jordan's endorsement deal revolutionized the game for athletes and Nike.
Jordan's mother, Deloris Jordan, played a crucial role in securing the sneaker deal that contributed to her son becoming the world's first billionaire athlete.
Ben Affleck directed the film and also portrays Nike founder Phil Knight, while Damon and Bateman play former Nike executives Sonny Vaccaro and Rob Strasser, respectively.
Viola Davis, personally chosen by Jordan, stars as his mother, and Affleck praised her as the best actor he has ever seen.
The film showcases the evolution of Nike and the Air Jordan brand, but audiences will only see archival clips of Jordan and glimpses of the character who portrays him.
