After an extra-inning meltdown on Monday night, the Royals beat the Tigers 4-1 with a good spot start from Mike Mayers. Kansas City ends a four-game losing run.

One run scored in the fourth inning. Michael Massey punished Javier Baez after his throwing error started the inning. 

The Royals' second baseman hit an RBI-double. Minutes later, 23-year-old Maikel Garcia hit another RBI-double.

Salvador Perez's sacrifice fly extended the lead to three before the inning ended.

The Royals quickly reclaimed that run. Edward Olivares' single scored Bobby Witt Jr. in the sixth.

Massey's glove helped Cuas in the sixth inning. Massey made a diving play up the middle with one out and the bases loaded. Find out.
