Everyone wants a toned, flat belly for bathing suit season. Unfortunately, some of us still carry holiday weight. However, losing visceral belly fat doesn't require perilous celebrity diets or unattainable workouts.
Many can flatten their stomachs by summer. It depends on several aspects. Starting point, body composition, health, and dedication. BodyDesigns by Mary founder Sabat advises having reasonable expectations and knowing that everyone's body is different. Some people can lose weight in a few months, but others take longer. It's not impossible!
Sabat recommends eating well to achieve a flat tummy. "Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in your meals," she advises. These foods satisfy with nutrition, fiber, and antioxidants. "Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym." Sabat also stresses the need of drinking enough water.
Avoid processed, sugary, and high-saturated and trans-fat foods. Sugary drinks, refined cereals, quick food, sweets, and excessive alcohol usage are examples. "These foods can cause weight gain, bloating, and inflammation, making a flat stomach harder," Sabat explains.
Eating healthy won't help you lose weight. Exercise regularly. "A combination of cardiovascular exercises, strength training, and core-focused workouts can help tone and strengthen your abdominal muscles," Sabat explains.
"Engage in activities like jogging, swimming, cycling, or brisk walking to burn calories and reduce overall body fat," she advises. "Incorporate exercises that target multiple muscle groups, such as squats, lunges, deadlifts, and push-ups."
Sabat suggests "exercises that specifically target the abdominal muscles, such as planks, crunches, Russian twists, and leg raises." These exercises tone your core. Muscle growth boosts metabolism and tones your body.
