The poor response to Tom Holland’s new production The Crowded Room has been described as “a kick in the teeth” by the actor.
In the new Apple TV+ series, the actor portrays Danny Sullivan, a guy with dissociative identity disorder who is arrested for attempted murder.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he discussed the negative reception to his series, which he executive produced.
“All of a sudden I was like, ‘Wow. That’s a bad review'”
Holland described it as “a kick in the teeth.” When I rolled over to check the ratings, I was startled out of nowhere and thought, “Wow. That’s a terrible rating. There is often some good to be found. There was zero.”
The show’s repetitious style and lack of significant drama, considering the premise, have been singled out as major points of criticism, despite the fact that they have nothing to do with Holland’s acting.

A producer’s learning curve is “fun,” as Holland put it. I’ve always believed that hard work is good work, so I’m not new to the concept. The show was great, yet it ended up breaking me.
There reached a point where I realized I needed a break. Away I went. I spent a week in Mexico just chilling out on the beach. Because of how challenging this program was, I’m now taking a year off.
Holland, when asked what he plans to do during his gap year, responded, “I’ve done a little bit of traveling. The experience was fantastic. I’ve been spending time with my loved ones and my pals. Currently, my hobby is golf. I’ve begun frequenting garden centers to stock up on plant material, which I then try to nurture to health. I’ve been trying to chill out like a normal Kingstonian dude.
When asked if he plans to reprise his role as Spider-Man, the actor said, “I don’t believe it’ll be soon. But it’s not impossible by any means.
