After Monday's Eastern Conference final Game 7 against the Boston Celtics, NBA fans knew Miami Heat guard Caleb Martin. Celtics supporters.

Martin started for the first time in the series, played 45 minutes, and scored 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting with 10 rebounds as the Heat avoided a collapse and advanced to the NBA Finals to face the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.

Martin, from Mocksville, North Carolina, played two seasons at North Carolina State before moving to Nevada.

Martin earned Mountain West Conference Player of the Year after sitting out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer regulations. His senior season averaged 19.2 points.

Martin was undrafted in 2019, however his twin brother Cody, who played with him in college, was picked by the Charlotte Hornets in the second round.

The Hornets signed undrafted free agent Caleb Martin, however he was dismissed before the 2021 season.

In September 2021, Martin joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Miami Heat on a two-way deal. He earned a three-year, $20 million contract after averaging 9.2 points in 60 Heat games.

Martin started 49 games this season, setting career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and minutes.
