The Pacers' history of undrafted players nothing like the Heat
Undrafted players have been key to the Miami Heat's unlikely march to the NBA Finals as a No. 8 seed.
While All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have carried much of the load, guards Gabe Vincent and Max Strus and wings Duncan Robinson and Caleb Martin, none of whom were drafted out of college, have supported them.
They scored 79 of the Heat's 128 points in Eastern Conference Finals Game 3.
After the Celtics recovered from a 3-0 hole to square the series 3-3 in Game 7, those four scored 54 of the Heat's 103 points in a 103-84 triumph in Boston.
Undrafted Haywood Highsmith added two points.
Draymond Green has been outspoken about how much their draft status should be mentioned now that they've been in the NBA for at least three years.
It may be rude to the players, but it shows the Heat's skill development.
Even though the NBA draft has just two rounds and many all-conference and All-American players go undrafted, it's unusual for such players to join a roster and affect an NBA club, particularly in the playoffs.
