A 33-year-old man tragically lost his life during a skydiving class in Kapowsin, Mason County, Washington.
The incident occurred when the man's parachute clipped the top of a tree, causing it to collapse.
Numerous individuals, including both people on the ground and members of the Skydive Kapowsin class, witnessed the accident.
Following the parachute collapse, the man experienced an uncontrolled fall from a height of approximately 90 to 100 feet.
First responders, who were already in the area, immediately initiated CPR in an attempt to save the man's life.
Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mason County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) and Washington State Patrol units promptly responded to the incident after receiving the report around 4:30 p.m.
The MCSO expressed its deepest condolences to all those affected by the tragic event, emphasizing the close-knit nature of the skydiving community.
Skydive Kapowsin, the organization responsible for conducting the skydiving class, issued a statement expressing its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased individual.
