In spite of the fact that former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is embroiled in some very public legal disputes related to his alleged receipt of millions of dollars intended for Mississippi's poorest residents during the welfare scandal there, he continues to oppose the transgender community.
Brett Favre recently spoke on Jason Whitlock's "Fearless" podcast and stated unequivocally that he does not understand or support the transgender population.
"To think that a young male who identifies as a girl can go into a girl's bathroom and use the restroom with girls, I don't understand it — just hear me out, I think is wrong.
I apologize. As reported by Fox News, Favre remarked in the podcast. "I just think some of the things this country is permitting are unbelievable... Some of the ideas and opinions we're encountering are absurd.
Then, Favre made it known that he opposes transgender women participating in women's sports and that he believes other players share his views but are reluctant to express them.
"I think maybe the vast majority are afraid of what it'll do to their career," Favre added. "And it doesn't immediately harm them. At least not yet. Who can predict the future of this nation? They might be impacted by it later on. Is there still time? I'm not sure. It's frightful.
Favre also endorsed former US president Donald Trump during the interview, saying that he left the nation "in a better place" than when he took office.
