Particularly with regard to basketball naturally, late Kobe Bryant was always a great advocate of women’s sports, motivating an entire generation that became some of the biggest names in the WNBA like Sabrina Ionescu, with her own massively successful Nike line, Diana Taurasi, and many more.

Still among one of the most often worn sneakers in Nike’s collection, images of the new WNBA-inspired Kobe 6 Protro “Total Orange” footwear have leaked. And they are transcendental.

In the basketball community, Kobe Bryant’s shoes have long been a sought-after treasure. Thanks to Kobe himself, their rarity, price, high-performance ranking, looks, and star power have maintained them at the top of the list of hoop kicks. Nike keeps introducing revised Kobe models and brand-new colorways yet we most likely won’t see a brand-new model in the line anytime soon.

Less than a month before their terrible death, the Kobe 6s, a fan favorite from the shoe series, are launching in a new colorway honoring the famous picture of Kobe and Gianna Bryant seated first row at a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.

Nice Kicks Instagram has this view of the shoe below. The shoe is expected to hit in July, maybe during WNBA All-Star Weekend.

The Kobe 6 “Total Orange” colorway will be available at retail price between $190 and $210, same as the other recent Kobe Protro launches. WNBA and NBA TV will shortly feature this heartfelt respect to the late father-daughter pair; when it does, we most likely will see it on social media.

In 2020, Bryant’s support of the WNBA was returned when the league designated the WNBA Advocacy Award after Kobe and Gigi passed.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said, “Kobe was an amazing champion of women’s basketball and Gianna shared his enthusiasm and dedication to our game. “The Kobe & Gigi Bryant WNBA Advocacy Award will honor their legacy, reflect Kobe’s commitment to mentoring the next generation of players, promote the game and give back to the community.”

Planned to launch this July on SNKRS and at a few chosen stores to coincide with the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game is the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Total Orange.” See a first peek below; keep tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
